Hell even in the ORIGINAL Legend Of Zelda she looks like.. a pixel taller than him.. maybe…

Every time you draw Link taller than Zelda Eiji Aonuma cries. I’ve seen it, you guys, he just bursts into tears.

Further proof Link lives in Hateno… + Massive Zelink Dialogue Hints. (Spoilers.)

- Link can vote in the Hateno election. Villagers ask him who he’s voting for. Voting is only open to Hateno residents.

- It’s already been mentioned, but Zelda has to hide his new and improved Champion’s Tunic in the castle throne room since he’ll likely find it in the house.

- Link can teach at the school Zelda built. It’s a job that is open to people who live in the area, and who are intelligent + qualified. Link teaches cooking classes amongst other things to the Hateno children.

(Classes end in the early afternoon, so it only makes sense it’s for people who live in the area. The best way to get there on time is to sleep at the Hateno house and make a beeline for the school early in the morning.)

(Sidenote: Link and Zelda both seem to love kids and the students call them “Mr. Link” and “Mrs. Zelda.” Students will make a drawing for Link after he teaches a few classes.)

- Every couple’s bed in Hateno is a twin with one single pillow. It’s just the way the bed models work. Even the dye shop guy and his wife have the same exact bed as Link and Zelda, just in a different colour. Which means it’s a bed for two, according to ToTK logic.

- The dining room is set for two.

- Link “never leaves Zelda’s side.” But when she does leave, he follows her everywhere and anywhere.

- His hair tie is in her study and I’m not sure how it would fall into her possession, unless he takes it off to sleep.

- Speaking of which, Link can sleep in Zelda’s bed.

- Zelda has a private study room for peace and quiet, implying she doesn’t live alone.

- Symin acknowledges that Link lives in Hateno by saying “LINK, YOU’RE BACK! You’re back in town?” He insinuates Zelda is usually with him.

And the most obvious point… Zelda is in love with him. 😅 Why would she kick him out?

A few more things:

- There’s a cherry blossom tree symbolizing love and romance on the mountain right behind Link and Zelda’s house, a Gerudo woman sitting underneath it, and a broken heart pond. The woman there can tell Link isn’t there looking for love.

- Another Gerudo woman asks Link if he’s found the love of his life, which he can reply “yes” to.

- An NPC tells Link that the Bolson dream homes are “family homes perfect for growing old and gray with your loved ones and raising children together.” So even if Link indulges in buying a dream home, it can be Zelink coded.

- Its been claimed that a diary somewhere states that Link is “enamoured” by Zelda. (Aka he’s smitten.)

- Link has the option to say he’s in a relationship / has his heart set on someone special (the specific word “girlfriend” is used in certain translations) in the Gerudo love school.

(He can either confidently say yes, or say no in a hesitant manner. If he hesitates, he apparently gets called a liar. 😅 If Link admits to having a girlfriend / someone special, she says “I can tell you’re telling the truth.”)

- In Lurelin, it is revealed that Zelda and Link went on several secret trips to the Lover’s Pond in disguise mostly at sunset and dusk.

- There’s a painting that Zelda made of the Lover’s Pond that you can find.

- Still under the impression Link is in love with Zelda, Paya has shifted her focus towards her duties as Chief.

- A fake Zelda will appear on the Great Plateau where you first spoke to King Rhoam, but she is merely an extremely good disguise by a Yiga clansman. Link will be able to tell she isn’t actually Zelda.

- In the German version of the game, Sonia says “we’ll get you home to your Link” to Zelda.

- “We’ll get you home as soon as possible to put Link’s heart at ease” in the English version.

Spoilers:

- Link feels like Zelda’s presence (Light Dragon scale) is “warm, and extremely familiar.”

- Zelda describes Link hugging her as “a warm, loving embrace.”

- Zelda’s final words are “Link, I’m home.”

Okay that’s it for me. 😊 Back to playing. I’m sure more dialogue and environment hints will pop up later. I’ll keep the thread updated. We don’t even have a DLC, yet. Bye!

Endnote: After what I’ve collected so far, I’d really consider this iteration of Link and Zelda canon once again. It’s Skyward Sword 2.0, but on steroids. I do think Nintendo is getting more bold with each release. It does seem to do a good job of exploring the ship on Link’s side while still keeping Link a pseudo blank-slate character. Like your choices only go so far, because it seems like Link will care for Zelda no matter what.

10/10 game. :)
